In my personal musical Hall of Fame you comparing notes with Stevie Wonder and Claudia Schmidt. Next to the Fireplace there's a hired singer guitarist by the name of Braden Canfield. He's certain that there's been a mistake in being in the same room with all these cats. What he doesn't know, is that it was a unanimous vote, by everyone there, to be graced by his song and lyric at this particular gathering. ( Note Stephen Sondheim nodding with approval, sitting on the couch with Cole Porter.) Like a proud Father and a loyal brother, it is with tears of joy that I defend the grounds of my personal fantasy with the words of Lesley Gore: “It's MY party and I'll cry if I want to...and you would too if it happened to YOU!” The talent and genius of Braden Canfield has “happened” to me and I only hope that this program will keep him happening to others, near and far, for a long time. Play on, my friend and you can keep my capo. With Love and Affection, James Schattauer
