Rwandan Witness - Friends at Ground Zero

photo of Friends from Rwanda

Friends Peace House/Uguru Rw'Amahoro is a striking witness in a country so recently torn by genocide of nearly 800,000 people. The Evangelical Friends Church in Rwanda has firmly taken on the task of being workers for peace, healing and reconciliation in a land much in need of Divine Love.

We'll visit with 3 Rwandans. David Bucura is a Pastor of the Evangelical Friends Church of Rwanda and Chairman of Peace Commission of Rwanda Yearly Meeting. Sizeli Marcelin is director of Friends Peace House. Thirdly, Gaston Shyaka works with Friends Peace House on their Street Kids programs.

I have tried to listen to your voice,Sizeri,my self and Gaston today and Iam sheding tears of joy as I write this message to you, becouse I extreamly missing you and Gaston. It also made me remember the time you were in Rwanda as a group.thank you very much for every thing especially the simplified English which made me listen to peace makers Radio.Blessings to you,and the whole family.

Wow -- I was so touched by the interviews with those from Rwanda's Friends Peace House. How uplifting to hear of the wonderful work they do with children and with reconciliation as a result of the terrible atrocities there in 1994. I was moved to tears by the man who has not only forgiven those who killed members of his family, but is actually friends with those men. Incredible. Thanks for this eye-opening and heart-warming interview.
