There's a young Peace Studies program at UW-Stout, where we talk to Senior Lecturer in Peace Studies and Geography, James Handley, a current student, Emma Kornack, and a Peace Studies graduate and Americorps volunteer, Shelby Schuppe. Andy Murray was a founder of the Baker Institute for Peace and Conflict Studies of Juniata College in Pennsylvania. He's also ordained in the Church of the Brethren and he’s a singer/songwriter. He'll likely change your conceptions of what Peace Studies is and what best supports such work.
Peace Studies - Professor Ian Harris, UW-Milwaukee
Ian Harris has spent 32 years as part of the faculty of the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He started by teaching a selection of Education courses, but found his home specializing as a Peace Studies instructor. Ian has guided students through all the multiple levels and phases of Peace Studies over the last few decades, preparing his students to make a much-needed difference in the world through their active, engaged Peace Work.
Jill Sternberg/Gamaliel Chair in Peace & Justice
Jill Sternberg was the first graduate of UW-Milwaukee's Peace Studies Program she is the Sept/Oct 2005 Gamaliel Chair in Peace & Justice. She has established a peace center in East Timor, training men and women in non-violence. Jill self-designed the first Peace Studies Major at UW-Milwaukee and has established herself as a gifted and creative leader.
