With the threat of internal turmoil or even civil war possible in the US due to red/blue polarization, especially since 2016, the Braver Angels project and organization was founded. Their mission? “We bring Americans together to bridge the partisan divide and strengthen our democratic republic.” It's a tall order in these tense times, but Braver Angels is bringing great energy, dedication, and tools to the work. Today we are joined by the Braver Angels coordinators for Wisconsin. Susan Vergeront is credentialed red, including ten years in Wisconsin's legislative assembly as a Republican, and currently retired from years as a Presbyterian pastor. Cameron Swallow is a North Carolina transplant to Wisconsin, a blue-leaning person with experience living and teaching in a very red area of Tennesee, and she also plays in a bluegrass band, Flat Creek Highway.
