Jan Spencer is guest-host today, his third time on Spirit In Action. Jan has a rich vision for a better world, what he calls Creating A Preferred Future.

Jan Spencer lives in Eugene, Oregon, and he's been creating a preferred future, on the ground and for the wider culture, from his one-quarter acre suburban home there. Many folks may assume that you have to move out to the country to create something in tune with nature, but Jan's wonderful homestead in the city proves the contrary.

Permaculture is much more than organic gardening because it uses whole systems thinking. It is explained eloquently by Carol Barta of the Kansas Permaculture Institute, one of the places where Carol teaches folks to see the world differently by focusing on the Big Picture, supported by the 3 core tenets and 12 design principles of permaculture.
